i love the noises, the first time you hear it, it scares you, but the more you listen to it, the more magical and ethereal it sounds

Imagine being out in the mountains/ wherever and you don’t know that this is the elk sound and randomly you hear this. Like I know it’s a elk sound from videos and love the sound but I wonder what people who hear it for the first time In real life think when they have no clue what it is

I one time my dad when he was younger took himself and his buddies out to hunt for deer or smth and they decided to go into forest and walk around since they saw one around before, and their in there and they heard this, they got so spooked they ran back to the truck and sped off but I guess my grandfather was on his quad or smth and saw them driving away since only 1 of the 3s ( including my dad ) were no longer a youth, but he is the least experienced. So my grandfather decided to be around as you need an experienced hunter if your a youth I think, and he saw them driving away, but he has been hunting at the time for 50 years and immediately knew what it was and when they all got back he told them what it was and joked about it to my dad and his buddies. Now it’s a lil inside joke of the family

The sound is so loud and scary imagine being in the forest hiking and you hear a screaming from the distance and you check it out to see what caused that sound and realize that was an elk
