One of the many symptoms of an underactive thyroid is disturbed digestion. This might lead to a change in the balance of bacteria in the intestine, which can turn into small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). I work with many clients who are struggling with this set of symptoms that could be SIBO. Diagnosis and treatment with a physician may be tricky. In today’s video I explain the common occurrence of SIBO with Hashimoto’s, as well I explain the testing, risk factors and symptoms. Stay to the end for a note about how some diet practices may not be for everyone. This is part of a multi-series video on digestive issues related to Hashimoto’s.  Thanks for watching!

Sara, excellent work explaining the connection between thyroid-hormones-gut-female biology related changes that happen. The body is not as simple as GPs approach them.
