A Symphonic Metal Tribute To Steven Universe

I love this show, it's got some great characters, entertaining stories, just the right amount of absurdity and a lot of heart. It's also got a wonderful soundtrack, courtesy of the talented duo of Aivi & Surasshu, whose jazz piano + chiptune style has some interesting parallels to my own metal + orchestra approach. So here's my tribute to the wonderful music of Steven Universe, a 12 minute whirlwind tour of Steven's world done in my usual Symphonic Metal style. Translating some of this music led me in some rather odd directions, but I had a lot of fun doing this :)

Music written by Aivi & Surasshu, Rebecca Sugar, Jeff Liu and probably some other folk I'm forgetting. All instruments arranged, performed and/or programmed by me (The L-Train). Cartoon Networks trailers for this show made it look PAINFULLY stupid, but I'm glad I watched it. The characters are so beautifully developed and the story arcs so intricate that I have to admit I'm addicted to this show! The tragic character that is Pearl. :-( You sir have paid a magnificent homage to this wonderful animation. Thank you.

White Diamond said she’s “every color of the light” in Change Your Mind/A Battle Of Heart and Mind, but since white is the complete absence of color, she’s actually completely colorless. She blocked out any and all “color” or impurity she saw, so I think it’s a good metaphor for her overall state of being.

I can definitely imagine the first song playing during the final showdown between Steven and the gang vs home-world
Steven and Connie fuse, wielding both sword and shield yelling " If all pork-chops were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs!", while leading a whole army of once corrupted gems turned good.
