Always look forward to Sundays for your show. I'm watching it late this week due to illness, so its nice to be in bed watching.
Bullfinches seem to be doing well, not jealous at all, I really want a pair of Kenny M's chestnut brown polls when he has some.
New shed arrives Tuesday, so a lot to do.

Finished the necessary Second-Viewing! :) Some great tips and bits of advice.... thank you! I too let hens sit on eggs that I know are empty... one such hen saved a nest of valuable eggs after the original mother died. The foster hen did a great job hatching and feeding those chicks.... and I am still grateful, several years later! PLUS, your advice to 'Keep going... don't get disheartened!' is valuable, and we all need reminding 'The birds will test us'. Next time, you should have youngsters to show us!!!!

Can you use sheet moss sold for flower arrangements for canaries to use as nesting material also? Should be clean and free of pests. Any idea? Thank you.

Hi Matt got a question for you a friend of mine has canaries but one of his Dimorpic hens laid 5 eggs but didn't seem right after laying her last egg and got worse in the next couple of days she seems to have lost her balance and her head is hanging down like a Frill canary what do u think caused this and is there anything that can be done for her thanks Mike

hello Matt again a nice video, why are your all your nestpans inside your cages, is it an advantage compared to that they hang outside the cage and where can I buy those round numbers hanging on your cages thank you kindly

All good stuff and very informative again, Matt. Both my timbrado hens are on full clutches and I'm expecting first arrivals any day soon, (I mentioned earlier I only ever have a couple of pairs at any one time, so just a fun pastime for me :-)
One thing I would really appreciate is if you could go through the whole ringing process again, (both closed and open rings).. I know you did this on an earlier episode but there are a couple of points I'm a bit foggy with. Is there a preferred time of day you do yours? Do you remove nest/chicks out of site of the hen? What if the brood have not had a synchronized hatching? How long have I got (with trembling, fumbling fingers!) before I start panicking?! Your advice will be much appreciated and once again, great show and very best wishes to you and all. Leonard.
