Has making a small change to your diet for a month of your life GONE TOO FAR??

The Oxford University study claiming a 75% reduction in global land use from a complete shift to veganism is a significant claim, and its robustness can be challenged on several grounds:

1. Oversimplification of Land Use: The study likely simplifies the complexities of land use. It does not fully account for:

Indirect land use change: A vegan diet might necessitate increased land for growing feed for livestock used in producing vegan alternatives like soy milk or other plant-based meats. This indirect land use change isn't always easily quantified.
Varied agricultural practices: The study's assumptions about agricultural yields and efficiency might not accurately reflect the range of farming practices globally. Organic farming, for example, often requires more land than conventional methods. The study may not differentiate between these, leading to an overly optimistic estimate.
Land use for other purposes: The 75% figure likely focuses solely on agricultural land. It might neglect land use for other purposes, such as housing, infrastructure, and reserves, which would remain relatively unchanged regardless of dietary shifts. The total land area used by humanity wouldn't necessarily decrease by that much.
Regional variations: Agricultural land use varies significantly across the globe. The study's model might not accurately capture these regional differences, leading to skewed results. A transition to veganism might have different land use implications in different regions.

2. Unrealistic Assumptions about Production and Consumption:

Global adoption: The study assumes 100% global adoption of veganism, which is highly unlikely in the foreseeable future. Considering the cultural and economic factors influencing food choices, a complete global shift is unrealistic.
Dietary diversity within veganism: The study may not account for the diverse range of vegan diets. Some vegan diets might be resource-intensive, requiring imports of exotic fruits and vegetables, negating some of the land-use savings.
Food waste: The study might not fully account for the significant amount of food wasted in the current system. Reducing food waste could significantly reduce land use regardless of dietary changes.

3. Lack of Consideration of Other Environmental Factors:

Nutrient deficiencies: A poorly planned vegan diet could lead to nutrient deficiencies, potentially increasing healthcare costs and requiring more land for resource extraction for supplements or medication.
Other environmental impacts: The study might primarily focus on land use, neglecting other environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and biodiversity loss. A complete shift to veganism might not automatically improve all these factors.

In conclusion, while a shift towards plant-based diets is likely to reduce land use to some extent, the 75% figure presented by the Oxford study needs to be viewed with caution. The study's assumptions about global adoption, agricultural practices, and the complexities of land use are likely oversimplified and potentially lead to an inflated estimate. A more nuanced analysis, considering the points raised above, is needed to arrive at a more realistic assessment of the environmental impact of widespread veganism.

Has he considered people with sensory issues regarding food? It’s not just as simple as switching your diet if the texture of vegetables and fruits are difficult for some to deal with

I wonder if this ex-criminal/druggie has ever apologised to any of his victims, which would also include the public due to the acceptance of welfare payments, because he was a drug user and couldn't hold a job down? I have no time for people like this, when ALL my life, I've done ALL the right things, whilst clowns like this ask for forgiveness. He still clearly has anger issues and if pushed, I think he would go berserk, and possibly hurt someone, whilst constantly preaching on about not hurting animals.
