ALDI VS LIDL PARKSIDE TOOLS & UNIQUE JAR STORAGE IN MY WORKSHOP ⚒️🤪

I made a jar storage system in my workshop for screws nuts and bolts , also tools from Aldi compared to parkside Lidl tools.

I’m not an expert, DIY is my hobby and these are just my views, opinions and thoughts. Dont do what i do assuming it is the correct way, i just show what i do.. this is certainly NOT a how to video.
Thanks for watching

Please don’t change! It was like watching myself, wrong sums, starting wrong end, drilling too far! 🤣 fantastic, your channel is real life for us sheddies, not like the smooth polished (edited) videos out there! Keep it up Rob 👍

I watched this thinking you were a pro. Imagine how elated I felt when I realised you were a mere mortal 😁😁. Nice job, please keep the mistakes, it stops the rest of us feeling like abject failures 👍👍.

When I was a nipper, 50 odd years ago, my dad had a big jam jar storage system in his shed for screws etc. He’d used the alternate idea you mentioned, screwing the lids to the underside of a long self, with jars secured by screwing the jars onto the lids. I loved helping him with diy, and begged him to let me bring down a jar of screws. Eventually he agreed, even though I was on tiptoes…. As the jar came free it slipped out of my hands - amazing how far hundreds of screws and bits of broken glass can go 😂😂😂.

Now if he’d used a design like yours…. 👍👍👍

Love the storage. I use a decorator's window scraper for the labels in a wash-up tub with some hot soapy water. Takes seconds. Basically, up and down motion then use one of those stainless steel washing scourers to finish off. Easy

A very old trick I found in a TV series nearly 40 years ago - was to fix the jar lit to the underside of a shelf with screws. Then screw the jar up into position.

Cheers Rob, great idea, and you got there in the end, it's so easy to mess up the measurements when you're working on the fly, but good to show mistakes too, keeps it real ! There are so many systems available to buy these days but tbh jars work as well as anything, just don't drop them. Somebody there has a sweet tooth with all that honey, perhaps you should make one in a hexagon shape like a honey comb ! 😉

Loving the dusty web on the pillar drill. 😂 Good to see I’m not the only dusty bugger. Subscribed and liked. 👍

Definitely show mistakes. Makes it real and helps people to learn IMHO. That jar rack is an awesome idea. Keep up the great additions to the shed!

My father did glass jar storage in the 60's, we had it around for decades. I would suggest this to no one, you will be cleaning broken glass off floors, cleaning broken glass out of nuts and bolts or anything you store in them. Just get a 3d printer, you can and make storage any which way, and get a labeler and you will be able to find everything.

Another great video keep the mistakes in makes me feel better when I do similar things. Definitely LED lights hidden behind will look good with the light shining what's in the jars.Steve aus.

great video, useful storage, dish washer takes labels off, or soak them for a bit then use petrol to remove any residue

When I was a kid, the joiner next door screwed the jar lids under shelves or anywhere he could and then simply turn jar to get at the nails, screws and other bits etc.
