I saw Buff in Atlanta Ga, at a show at the Atlanta race track. I got a pic qnd an autograph. He was nice and he watched every indy match on the card. He did it with the fans. So, I got nothing but love for him.

Yeah they did Buff dirty as all hell. They gave him just an obnoxious character and made him seem weak as hell so they could fire him and fans wouldn't bat an eye. They did this to a good portion of the WCW power houses they acquired because Vince wanted to make WCW look inferior to WWE. Don't even get me started on the poor ECW headliners

It was pretty clear that WWE wanted to send a message to the WCW guys. Vince screwed DDP, Kronic and Buff right from the start. The Invasion angle was crap!!! It started with Buff and Bookers match.

Firing buff in atlanta is all I need to hear to know they wanted to destroy anyone with pop from wcw. Workplace retaliation maybe or jealousy evoked character assassinations. Buff was the stuff. Too goofy to really hate and his energy and excitement to be there was infectious. wwe had a dozen characters like his, but none went over quite like him imo.

Having your mother call and say you’re sick and can’t make the house show you’re scheduled for doesn’t help your chances at a new company. From what I’ve heard, (it was a podcast, not sure whose it was) she then started complaining that her son deserved better than what WWE was paying him and that he’s better than doing house shows.
