I have now made 2 videos about what Confederate Generals did after the Civil War and they have since become my two most popular videos. A very common request was a video in that style about Union Generals, so here are 9 Union Generals and what they did after the war.

0:00 - Intro
0:26 - Ulysses S. Grant
2:09 - George B. McCellan
3:21 - William T. Sherman
4:32 - George Custer

7:38 - Nathaniel P. Banks
8:29 - Winfield Scott
9:12 - Joseph Hooker

Great video keep them coming. Gen. Sickles was born on October 20, 1819. ((a typo, I'm sure). Please slow down your narration, and leave the visuals on for much longer, some of us old fogies need more time. Oh, YES! Bring on more videos. Thanks.

Grant was weak and very ill with cancer in his last year. He had started his memoirs, but it didn’t look like he could finish them. An American author heard about that and sent help, a secretary, a publisher lined up, with he himself reviewing the handwritten manuscript and preparing it for publication. He took nothing for his work and insisted all proceeds go to Grant’s widow. Income from the sale of the memoirs saved her and her children from destitution. The author who helped forbade the publisher from putting his name on the book. That author was Mark Twain.

The shot up and amputated leg of Daniel Sickles is on display at the Smithsonian, I believe, where he would humorously visit it whenever he was in Washington DC. "stopping by to say hello."

Definitely need a second video. Include Phil Sheridan, George Thomas, Oliver Howard among others.

Keep bio screen longer during video. (Can’t read that fast)

You should definitely include Brig. Gen. George S. Greene, whose brigade successfully defended Cup's Hill at Gettysburg. It saved the Union Army.
He was the oldest general from either side and lived for almost the entire 19th century.
Great, unheralded man.

Great videos, we have more Union generals definitely. however I would love to see the video I recommended earlier, southern generals who stayed loyal to the union like George Thomas, Winfield Scott, John Gibbon, John Buford, David Farragut, Montgomery Meigs, Robert Anderson, Phillip St. George Cooke etc.

Here’s a few names for the Part II: Ambrose Burnside, Winfield Scott Hancock, Philip Sheridan, Oliver O. Howard John Schofield, George Thomas, and John Gibbon.

Well done, kid. Keep it up. (I refuse to dis a young history buff for messing up a generals' name.)

Good video- by the way, McClellan was misspelled and thus not pronounced properly. You forgot the L after the two C's.

I don’t think Dan Sickles died at 114 years. 1810 - 1914.
Not 1800 - 1914

Just slight side note for clarity: The Battle of the Little Bighorn was not even a battle. it was a collossal mistake on the part of Custer. The run-up took about an hour, long enough for the 7th Cavalry to be chased and seperated on and around a small hill. The actual stationary fight of the survivors lasted about 10-20 minutes.

I don't think Sickles lived to be 114.

Would love a part 2. I’d suggest watching Ken Burns Civil War documentary mini-series for pronunciations you aren’t familiar with since you grew up in Canada and also double check spellings. McClellan’s mispronunciation was largely due to the missing first L in the spelling shown. Also check pronunciations of old first names that are no longer commonly used. In some cases the pronunciations may vary by region, but I noticed in another video you pronounced the first name Hiram as Hear-em. I’ve only ever heard it pronounced HI-ram. Keep at it. I’ve enjoyed all of your videos that I’ve watched.

Dig the videos but you really struggle with the names. Try speaking a bit slower or listening to how the names are pronounced. Would hate to see such a promising channel fall off due to something so easily addressable

Was Custer a light colonel or general at Big Horn?

Slow down a little bit on your dictation. I've seen the 2 videos about the Confederate Generals and liked this one too. But it's delivery seems very rushed. I'd love to see more of those from both sides. They're all like the finish to a epic movie we all wonder about after that movie has concluded.

Part 2. Please work on your pronunciations.
