Maiah has crazy dynamics in that vocal, I could definitely listen to more of that ensemble.

I saw Maiah live in a small setting, about 45 people or so. I really enjoyed it - a one-lady show, very talented. Very friendly and down-to-earth.

Did you notice she was playing the bass drum and the tambourine (on the backbeat) with her feet? Her voice is crazy good. If you ever listen to the Envy of None stuff, you have to listen with headphones. She does a ton of vocals layers that are very subtle but so cool to tease out of the mix.

I think the story goes something like this. Wynne won a song writing contest. (I guess shes won a bunch) The prize was to get mentoring from Andy Curran. He liked her voice so much he asks her to sing on some tracks his been working on. He sends these tracks to his friend Alex who is impressed and asks if he can put some guitars on the songs. Andy hoping he would do just that, calls Wynne to ask permission for his friend Alex, you know Alex Lifeson, can add to the songs. Wynne supposedly had an oh shit moment and said of course. The rest is history.

Wynne came into the Envy of None project thru Andy Curran who started it when he asked Alex to help out with a couple songs he was working on, it expanded from there.

Hey Justin, Thanks for this RV. Just a quick note on the guitar. It's actually an oil can guitar as opposed to CBG. Best to you!

She’s a terrific singer. Haunting voice. This was very cool & very different from EON.

There’s another Envy of None record coming out next month I believe.

Envoy of None is nothing like this or like Rush. It’s more experimental and weird, again thats why I like it. The story of how she came to be their singer is pretty cool, all by accident or serendipity if you will. (I never thought I would use that word in a sentence, I need to drink some Shady Mile and be a man again) 😆

Alex does the blah blah blah better. 😂😂😂😂

Haven’t heard this before. Her voice fits this style. Envy of None is worth checking out. It’s so different from anything you’d expect Alex to be playing on but it’s got it’s place. Very mellow. Lots of digital sounds and effects. Most of Alex’s guitars don’t even sound like guitars. I enjoy it but it’s more for relaxing.

And pretty sure Alex was invited to join envy of none by a friend who had written a large majority of the music already. So wasn’t exactly an Alex project originally. Could be wrong though. The media always assigns ownership to the most well known member even if he was not the primary.

I find that her vocal sound is quite common with many female singers today. I don't feel she's unique but she can sing, and that's cool. I'm not a fan of Envy of None even though Alex is in the band. It just doesn't do a thing for me.

Very nice, but far more about the song than the singer (for me).

Closed minded when it comes to music I will admit. Having said that the majority of the donation videos just don't interest me anymore sadly. Cheers...
