Elite Dangerous - We Are Elite (cinematic) [unofficial]

This is a cinematic trailer, set in Elite Dangerous universe, that showcases the game's varied and nuanced facets and roles which players can embrace. From trading to deep space exploration, or action-packed human or alien combat - the opportunities are plenty.

The filming was completed without any special account, tools or privileges that would make it easier. Instead, tens of thousands of LYs have been travelled to get the best imagery and action takes which are the epitome of Elite Dangerous. Some scenes you see took weeks in planning and/or waiting for the right conditions. Others were cherry picked from hours-long sessions following the "action".

This game is far more than what critics give it credit for. Elite Dangerous Odyssey is an amazing game. It's huge. You can make your own way. My way has been exploration, but wow, this game is the only game I play regularly. Great job on the video!

I recently tried Elite dangerous after a couple years hiatus. Looked at a planet in Odyssey and compared it to Horizons legacy. Bearing in mind the criticism by many that it's been downgraded, I was surprised and felt it was the opposite. The legacy version looked more blurry and cartoonist (beiges etc) compared to Odyssey which was more realistic in terms of landscaping. The station interiors were sharpened and more detailed in Odyssey. This may explain slightly lower frame rates as the graphics engine has more to process. Just my opinion, I expected to concur with the critics but found I couldn't.

This game has its ups and downs, but nothing I've ever done on my computer in my 36 years on this pale blue dot compares to my time on Distant Worlds 2. Very little in my real life does either. And Elite gave me that opportunity. Regardless of what the future holds, I will always be eternally grateful to this game for those precious few weeks.
