Sustainability is the balance of economic opportunity, social equality, and Earth's resources. These are the three pillars of sustainability and there must be tradeoffs between them to have a sustainable society.

I have been more consciously sorting my household waste for recycling and washing all packaging to go into recycle bin. I try not to buy plastic bags and look for compostable packaging. I have bought a compost bin though still not good at using properly. I plant lavender and flowers to attract bees. I use bank cards that invest in sustainable companies (where I can). I want to buy an electric car but will when I can afford it. In the meantime, I have a hybrid low emissions fuel engine. I have other goals to reduce use of plastics in my household.

This is sustainability but short Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In addition to natural resources, we also need social and economic resources.

I make accessories out of materials that the City of Toronto doesn’t recycle. It’s not just good for the environment it’s also a great way to use resources that we already have.

How can we make the companies limit their consumption if we are not able to lower the demand in markets?

I design and create clothing that is sustainable using 100% organic ring-spun combed cotton. They are Global Organic Textile Standard certified and conducive to green living. And as that isn’t enough for me I donate 50% of the profits to charities aiming to preserve the environment locally and globally 🌍

Where's your source on mesopotania? All people know about it is that they had a strong agricultural system which was eventually ruined by floods and erratic weather.

I hate to see modern content creators implying that plastic is recyclable. it is totally not! look at Climate Town's video, "Plastic recycling is an actual scam", And then look at discussions with Shawna Swan, the epidemiologist who found out in 2005 with the CDC about the issue where Plastics are not biologically compatible after the break down into nano particles

Simply saying balance of economic opportunity, social equality, and Earth's resources doesn't pin down sustainability--we could destroy ecosystems through pollution or climate change and that doesn't fit under any of your terms. You seem to be trying to make a video to summarize the UN's term "sustainable development, " which itself is an oxymoronic concept.

And waste is not a bad thing. it is non-circular AKA non-recyclable or non-compostable or non-biocompatible waste which is the issue, Circular waste is not an issue. similarly, the amount of energy used to produce a product or service or good is not an issue. it's only an issue if it is a non-circular material or energy that causes pollution that is affecting the ecosystem's bio-compatibility

Deeply flawed. If one thinks economics, markets, jobs, corporations, etc., can be made sustainable one doesn't understand sustainability at all. Simplistic thinking siloes everything, as in this video. Water? What about the building? What about the bottling? What about the transport? Etc.? Sustainability is SYSTEMIC. You cannot silo any part of any system.

We still see many unsustainable things today? Virtually everything produced in the modern economy is unsustainable.

Gogreenpost? We seriously need to talk.
