ROYGBIV. This is how we remember all the colors of the rainbow. There are 7 colors of the rainbow but in this recipe, I decided to make only 6 colors.
This is a vanilla cake dyed with gel food coloring. Decorating this cake is very easy and forgiving. It doesn’t have to be smooth and perfect because the star of this cake are the vibrant colors of the rainbow.
RECIPE:
RAINBOW VANILLA CAKE
3 3/4 cake flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
pinch of salt
5 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup milk
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
* gel food color
WHIPPED CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
