I like the qr code scanning as it is more secure. To log in with your Google account allows for hackers to gain access, easier.

This sounds like what beeper is using. They no longer use the web messaging feature and now just one of two tablet slots for syncing messages

That could be big for me, I’m planning on buying either an S23 Ultra or Z Fold this Black Friday and use Google Messages on it, but I’m also dragging my iPad and PC kicking and screaming to work in other ecosystems. If this comes to be and there aren’t any OS requirements for it, I’d have my text messages on all my devices at once for the first time.

Tbh I always wanted two phones (a flip and a fold), not sure if they can sync phone calls as well since carriers only allow one sim card (unless you have the t-mobile DIGITS plan). But if Google could pull it off, that would save the time and trouble

This would be awesome! I am curious as to how multiple chrome OS devices and/or Android devices handle multiple Google accounts. Like what if I use ChromeOS for work and I have a ChromeOS device at home, then if I login to my work account at home or login to home account at work if all of that is seamless or not. Would I find messaging there in the messages app? Could I use the same messages app and phone number with different ChromeOS accounts?

For years nobody has been talking about how tiny the typing area is on Google Messages. They got to make it expandable. Typing long messages in Google Messages is a horrible experience.
