I understand Bucher's point, but people calling the NBA hypocritical has nothing to do with the consumption of Chinese products and pointing fingers at the NBA...it has to do with the NBA pointing fingers at others (e.g. moving the All-Star game out of Charlotte) while benefiting from Chinese revenue.

No one is saying they can’t do business with China, the point being made is how they are handling this issue after being a so called champion of social justice. Essentially they are making it seem as if the GM said something wrong. They are apologizing for a statement supporting values they supposedly uphold. I understand business and I don’t condemn them for it but they were the ones pulling business from NC, they were the ones changing the term owner because it’s offensive, but u can’t even do the bare minimum and NOT throw your GM under the bus as a “champion”, essentially apologizing on his behalf and distancing yourself from him. No that is hypocritical and yes I typed this on my Iphone.

Normally I disagree with everything that comes out of Bucners mouth(and I disagree with his take on Steve Kerr comments on Hong Kong) but he’s right. WE in the USA need to take a hard look at ourselves and how
Connected we are to an oppressive regime. It’s been a thing far too long. We all talk about democracy and freedom, but as a country we’ve been holding hands with nations like this for a long time.
