Roma communities face hostility in the UK

On New Year's Day, it will become easier for potential migrants from Eastern Europe to move around in the European Union. One country where they may end up is Britain. And many of them are likely to be from the Roma community, but that could raise tensions Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports from Sheffield.

I deal with Eastern European’s a lot. No problems at all. But every interaction with Roma people has been atrocious. No respect for another individual. They make and break rules as they please.

If immigrants have failed to assimilate to the new country the live in, it is their fault for the failure, not the original residents who kept living and minding their own business as always.

I have them as neighbours, it’s unacceptable but nobody does anything about it for fear of being called racist. There are 10 in a 2 bed flat and on Sundays there are 26 of them gathering in the flat

If you offer the people of third world countries free money, free health care, free housing, free education and so on, guess what is going to happen.
It's not exactly difficult to get access into the UK because the government helps them do it.
The northern towns are flooded with eastern europeans, but how can you speak the truth when it's classed as racism.
The streets are turned in to ghettos, dozens living in the same house, they stand outside all night drinking and loud music when people have to get up for work to keep them in benefits.

Well, it's remarkable that almost all the Roma, maybe 90% of them have an anti-social and often criminal behaviour. Then there must be something really wrong about the Roma population itself. Then you can't blame others about it. Can you imagine that even all the other populations with an immigrant background complain about them and not only the British.
It's also good to notice that it's not only about Romanian or Bulgarian Roma. Here you can see that Slovakian Roma, but also Roma from ex Yugoslavia countries and from Greece are not much better.

Muslim haven't integrated.  They have invaded and set up trading posts.  But it's no wonder they don't like the Roma, nobody does, they are hated everywhere they go.  You don't have to be in tune with the wider society to think that an influx regressive and degenerate traits are bad for everyone.

I don't care for what reason the Roma are such a problem, but they haven't got a place in English society by the tens of thousands, and it is not our duty to accommodate for them when we can't look after our own.

Such a shame how the area has changed . It was always clean, I used to go to the local shop there to buy spices for cooking . Hate even driving through the area now

I am proud to say that the Romas in my town have become wonderful people to live beside. But my town being a touristic destination, we do get some of these people from outside, dragging their children around like cattle! Call me a racist, call me whatever you want! But there is an unspoken rule in human society "When you behave like an animal, you will be treated as an animal"! These people should at least try treating their children right.
I think this has barely anything to do with racism.

I live in the same village in Slovakia when they came from to your city and police does nothing with them too and they commit crime and usurpation on the most vulnerable groups... the richest abuse and extort them and use the money to build big houses and buy expensive cars and enjoy prosperity in Slovakia... I'm surprised UK that you haven't started to solve this because they are abusing the social system of your country…
