Duaa (prayer) is a big part of practicing Islam. Do you think she did anything wrong?

Funny how a lot of religions say they are against witchcraft, when their own rituals are literally the same

I talked to my mom about problems in Islamic scripture and she was surprisingly understanding i was scared to tell her that i find islam to be false because of the stories i heard about people getting killed by Muslims for saying things like this but i was suprised that she agreed with me and she was ignoring these problems because she was scared of hell i told her that even if god exists he wouldn’t do this to his creation its unfair to torture someone endlessly no matter how bad they are its just unfair im glad i could talk to someone about this i thought i was crazy for a moment but turns out that most people i tried to speak to about this are already skeptic about islam and have allot of doubts im happy to know that our world still have hope some people were just close minded when i try to talk to them they just say no dont say this astagfarullah haram but most of them were just like me i guess there are allot of people who have doubts but they are afraid to speak about them its nice to know we aren’t alone

Yikes, as an Egyptian having to hear this duaa every day at the elevator in the building where I live is a bit irritating, I can't imagine having to enjoy it after having to suffer listening to it for the millionth time for all of these years. 😂

"There are no atheists in Egyptian elevators" is true because on my last trip I popped out of existence for a minute every time I took an elevator!

Great video. When I was muslim I thought the constant prayer was a safeguard for someone naturally anxious like me but its pretty obvious to me that it just prevented me from developing healthy coping mechanisms.

A lots happening in Afghanistan, It would be great seeing you comment on those issues. I was just going through the news and saw some interviews and i felt so relieved that i left this cult but there were feelings of guilt and shame too, considering that i once believe in it.

Just a small correction. For the shabbat elevator button. It's not that it's considered work, which is why they dont press the button. It's that it may be considered lighting a fire which is considered forbidden on the sabbath per the lamed tes malochos because the way the button interacts with the electricity. The button is setting the electricity "fire" in place or starting it. It's not considered completely "asur" or forbidden. It's more of a precaution in case it would be considered lighting a fire.

The comments that urged her to "pick a religion" were the most interesting to me. Is this some sort of store where we pick which religion we think is prettiest?

Former Christian here, and I would like to express how helpful, as well as entertaining, your content has been since I discovered your channel a few months ago. In my eyes, learning about other religions and their history is essential if you wish to understand how the world operates in the present. Thanks for being you, wishing you the best.

Fear is often the biggest obstacle to leaving a religion. Fear of hell, fear of damnation, fear of death. It's used to keep people from leaving even if they don't believe anymore.

Cool detail: Both Secular spirit and Aladin have an Orange Rubik's cube in the background.

Religious people taking offense to posts like this is the reason why I struggle to take many religious people seriously. Idc what the cultural connotation is bc at the end of the day, it boils down to ignorance or hatred if your reaction to a post like that is to attack someone.

Just to let you know, Jewish law is all about loopholes. The reasoning behind a lot of these things is “it says we have to do this, but how can I get around it while still technically following the law”.
Jewish people technically aren’t allowed to charge interest on loans for other Jews. This is obviously a problem if you want to loan money, so there’s a workaround to sign a partnership document that essentially provides the same result but doesn’t “break”this law. This is just one of many, many examples where it’s not about the purpose of the law, but just following it, like Shabbat Elevators (and pretty much any use of electricity during Shabbat.)

Replace the Duaa with "Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength" and nearly everyone can see the coersive control.

"Mikal & Jibril were the first angels to obey God's order to prostate oneself before Adam." - Well aren't they the two little 'goody two shoes, suck ups'. Plus, does that mean the other angels had to think about it before deciding to obey God?

I enjoy the measured and intelligent conversations. No mockery or malice. Just truths.

Maybe if the engineers in Egypt made better quality lifts that weren't going to break and cause accidents then that would solve the problem?
