Multi-Protocol Label Switching or MPLS is a high-performance network protocol often used on ISP networks. But it's so different from IP-based routing protocols that it can be difficult to initially comprehend. What is it for? Where is it used? How does it work?, Why should I care? These are all questions that I had when I was learning about this technology.
