Is what’s happening a case of looking at things from a wider and wider perspective?
Like for example, first you learn letters, then you recognize syllables then you recognize words then phrases then sentences then paragraphs?
Are you doing the same with your improv in a sense? Going from notes to scales to lines to textures? (Thinking: ok now a fast thing going down but then up with “tension” notes and then a more chill passage which brings us to a resolution? Etc?
I’m assuming, since you are looking wider, you have to think of less. And thus you can play faster?
