Almost. You were pushing down on the top of the angled portion rod instead of pulling it up from beneath. (Try lowering the slim jim deeper in the door front of the button before sliding it to the rear). But yes, a slim jim will unlock a 97-03 Ford F-series pickup. P.S. Before putting the slim jim in, insert a small door stop or a plastic pen between weatherstripping and the glass to give yourself more room to work.

If you angle the Jimmy towards the front a little bit it would be opened already.Also this isn’t an 09, 97-04 model
