Thank you for showing an imperfect process and having a good reaction to it. I do appreciate it! I’ve put so many little tinkering projects off because I didn’t know every little step of the project. Truly valuable!

Nice job. Couple pointers... 1 pack the sand harder! It will stick in the mold better and you won't have the issue of it trying to fall out. 2 fill the top of the mold all the way up with sand. That will also help it stay in the mold. 3 cut around the pipe where your spru is. Will give you a bigger hole to hit when you go to pour the mettel in. You can also make small vents along the pice to help it fill all the way up. Hit me up if you have any questions. Will be glad to help! Nice job for it to be yours first time!

Boy that poor got exciting👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 And yes it’s a wall hanger for sure save it to watch your progress. Imagine the cool stuff you’ll do in a year and look back at that hammer on the wall that started it all. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Good on you mate! 👍
You can't learn if you don't try. I still haven't attempted sand casting yet. I have to spend some time to make up more green sand, I have nowhere near enough made up. I crushed the bentonite dry and mixed with sand dry and was going to add water gradually till it held shape when I was going to use it.
The hammer turned out great and will be a conversation piece for sure.
I've also have been thinking of ramming dry cement powder as it is so fine it may leave a smooth finish around the item to be cast but not sure if it would release when separating? It would be interesting to try though. Cheers for the video.

router or cut some grooves around the inside of your flask to help hold the sand Do post a vid if you try the cement
