McDonald’s can’t find workers? Maybe it’s time they pay living wages.

I wonder why people don’t want to go back to jobs during a pandemic for part time or low wage positions while risking sickness and having kids still doing schooling at home.

These economists are missing one important aspect. I have noticed some employers offering $15-$17/hour wages but at the same time cut the hours from a 40-hour week to a 30-hour week. Remember when hours per week fall like this, the employers do not have to provide insurance benefits. How does that help anyone support themselves? Cost of living hasn't decreased. As a matter of fact, it has increased with each passing year.

If you need to address jobs of any kind, offer a living wage. The pandemic exposed wage slavery.

Thirty thousand dollars a year is not a livable wage!!

And leisure/hospitality jobs don't pay well either.

You're kidding us right? There's not a person I know that has not already spent that $1, 400 and it was spent before they even got it! So if you're looking for a large increase in consumer spending you can forget it!
On $300 a week, we couldn't even feed the chickens!

What if people have elderly parents who need care while they work? Elder care is just as necessary as child care given the proportion of the population that belongs to the Boomer and previous generations.

I didn't catch the man's name that has "American Action Forum" behind him, but how can he say that Elder Care is not workforce participation?

Raising minimum wage has been long overdue and now you're seeing the effects from that.

rich for parts of the society.” He means the working poor. 😐 Just say it out loud. How unacceptable that the working poor aren’t happy about being kept poor. “Just get your lazy butts back to work for substandard pay and intolerable conditions so we can pay our shareholders bigger profits.”

Your numbers can not speak for everyone.. Some of us are trying to start our own business with the stimulus checks or unemployment which is still not enough. Serving and hospitality jobs are "NOW" high risk covid jobs. your numbers or data means nothing in the real world.

good stock markets numbers, huh
