This is what happens when car companies are run by MBAs and finance people rather than engineers and car people

The keypad is one item that really leaves me upset. It’s now a dealer “installed” option for $500. Installed my . It’s “installed” with 2 sided tape. Ludicrous. Someone could walk by with a knife, and 5 seconds of time, and remove it. C’mon Ford. What in the world are you doing. And on top of all this, they are going with a subscription model for some big ticket items. When I’m going to be paying $80, 000 plus for a vehicle, there should be no way I need to pay a subscription fee on top of that. All the manufacturers are doing it, but that doesn’t make it right. Jim, you need to make Ford batter than that. This is unacceptable.

Me: I’d like a Torsen front diff on my tremor.

Ford: Gotcha, you want luxury interior and fancy bumper. Only $12k

THANK YOU for calling these things out! As a longtime Ford customer (5 Fords and 1 Lincoln) I cannot stand seeing what they're doing over there. It seems like every day they make yet another decision to push me towards another manufacturer.

The expensive bundling is horrible on the new F150, the customization is worse than ever, the cost for a vehicle is insane, and one of the best features of owning a Ford--the keypad--is being taken away as a factory option. Recalls are out of control, cost-cutting seems apparent everywhere in their latest vehicles, they're taking away physical buttons and making them digital, they've moved some manufacturing to China, and the list goes on and on. So glad we have TFL to call these things out, because I feel like my one little voice isn't gonna change Ford, but maybe a few outlets can make a difference. I'm ready for Jim Farley to hit the road.

Those destination charges are definitely just for the dealer. I am a car hauler and we do not get paid that much money for destination delivery. I can guarantee you that much.

Ford doubling down on stupidity. After owning 4 Fords, I've left them.

I live 45 minutes from the Rouge plant...still has a destination charge

Literally what I have been complaining about. The price packaging is annoying and the primary reason I can't get an affordable truck with what I need anymore.

You guys missed a big one! Ford now makes the 6.8 and 7.3 standard with the 10R100 transmission! No more 10R140. More money, less capability. Thanks Ford

Ford CEO said they were reducing the number of configured variations to reduce costs and complexity.
Unfortunately any savings by Ford have not been passed on to the customer.
And I see cost cutting in other areas like cheap seat and interior materials, no standard rear wheelwell liners, excessive use of plastic under the hood, etc.
And MSRP keeps rising. Very discouraging.

Cars are more expensive, BUT.... why aren't warranties longer? Does that mean the manufacturers no longer believe in their product... they charge more, they should provide more... 3 yr warranty should be double since the vehicles cost double...

Ford has to raise prices to cover battery power car manufacturing costs and cover their many recalls.

I live about 2 hours away from the Louisville plant that builds the Super Duty and I get charged $1995 for the delivery charge just like someone living in Alaska does.

I was on the superduty configurator yesterday and the first thing I clicked was the cool bronze paint. That'll be $19, 000 more my good sir. I just laughed out loud.

I bought a keyless entry key pad from Nissan for my frontier in 2006 for $80.00 and installed inside the gas door on the door just flip the gas door open put in my 5 digit pin and unlocks the door, Battery lasted over ten years probably because it wasn’t in the sun, I carefully took it apart reinstalled a new battery and it’s still working today 10/10/24 only 135, 000 miles on truck.

GOD IM SO GLAD YOU GUYS ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS!

I was looking at the same thing, 7.3 v8 in the f250 and for some reason I HAD to add the STX package in the XL trim.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets irritated at this stupid up selling garbage.

The key pad is a must have. It’s perfect for hiking, hunting, fishing, kayaking. There’s no worry about loosing your key. I can’t believe they got rid of the factory installed key pad.

The dealer installed keyless entry pad requires its own battery. There’s no telling how long it will last.

Low revving, large displacement engines will generate less heat and pressure than their small displacement counterparts. All things being equal, they will generally last longer and cost less to maintain than a smaller forced induction engine with similar power and torque numbers.
