The fact that the site was purposefully buried is quite interesting.

What I learned while visiting Gobekli Tepe is that I will NEVER travel 12, 000 miles to visit an archeological site where I cannot stand within 10 feet of what I came to see. The race track they have built around Gobekli Tepe made me feel like I had never really been there.

Limestone like that, I’ve worked with from Austin to Miami, is very easy to work with. Heavy, but easily sculpted

And they’re dating the top layer of what’s believed to be a much larger compound still buried in that hillside.

not that its not important. but it didn't really "shake things up" now whats really interesting is that wooden fishing shack discovered in zambia dating to almost 500k years ago.

That’s extraordinary, and I’ve only just heard about it this year.

Gobekli Tepe and all the others Tepe, were constructed by the people that came from Russia and constructed Kostenki, 46.000-50.000 old villages in Russia, Tchechia.

Remember, archeologists will say that around this time hunter and gatherer nomads made this . That around this time there was only hunter and gatherers
They are actually still scrambling to get their story straight

It's crazy that the date they give it is based on when it was intentionally burried. They didnt just wake up one day and decide to make it. It took who knows how long to figure out how to cut, move, place, and carve those stones. It's likely those sites go back 12+ thousand years at least
