In tests the Trilene is the best knot and here is why. Everyone is too hyper focused on "what the strongest knot" Thats important, but if a knot is not #1 in reliability, that changes everything. The Trilene 7 out of 7 tests never failed. Its the most reliable, where the palomar and the san diego jam may have a ever so slight edge in the pull rate, none of them had 100% reliability like the Trilene. Under a microscope the line cuts the least under the Trilene out of all the knots out there. Even the famous San Diego Jam, failed 4 out of 7 times, but got on average the highest pull rate. But who cares, if its not reliable. If u want the King of knots, where u get the best of both worlds and Berkley data supports it. Trilene is King

Good job on the blacklight, thick cord, and slow & deliberate movements. Also, thank you for using smooth ambient music instead of something annoying.

My dad taught me this when I was a little boy. He just called it a fishermens knot. He passed away when I was 7 years old, and every time I go fishing, I use this knot. It makes me feel connected with him.

My daddy taught me this knot 50 years ago and I honestly thought it was the only knot a women needed! Passed it down to the girls and then their girls so far with a little help from my daddy, love you dad

Lost an 8lb brook trout, because my trilene knot “fatigued”. The knot doesn’t like side to side motion from fish moving back and forth… happy with my uni knot, it may not be as strong, but has never failed me due to the actual knot

Every fisherman I know tells me they tie the strongest knot. Every single one of them ties a different knot.

I've used this knot since I first started fishing as a kid. Never fails. I've had steel leaders give out before this knot did

That's the most dramatic tying of a knot I've ever seen in my life.

I’ve been using that knot for over 20 years more specifically if we thought we might get into big fish with light tackle. If you catch something big - cut the line and re tie the knot as the line has now been stretched and possibly over tightened at the hook

Trilene Knot
Like the Palomar, it's considered a “100% knot” but retains about 90% of the line's strength, placing it below the Palomar. Trilene knots are suitable for monofilament and fluorocarbon lines, but we don't suggest using them for braided types.

Beautifully presented. I was mesmerized, but I don't fish. Though I live on the riverbank. I shared it with my neighbor though who fishes below my deck every spring and summer day for about 10-15 mins...😂 love u BigFat!

I have used this knot on musky for over 25 years and it has never one time failed me . I have caught 90 inch Sturgeon on this knot all the way down to the smallest of fishes . This is by far the most reliable knot ever devised by man.
