finally someone who visited lucknow. this city has so much to offer from food to rive front, from architecture to modern science city, from india's only botanical garden to amazing chikankari textile and much much more. this city is so underrated. lucknow as a city is not only relatively clean but also safe and affordable. thank you for visiting it.

edit : you missed areally good location right infront of Ambedkar Park - U.P. Darshan Park. that park houses the replicas of the famous buildings/tourist attractions of uttar pradesh which are completely made out of waste materials/scrap.
clock tower is not only the tallest but also the first clock tower of india with roman numerals.
the building right behind hanumant dham is chattar manzil. it is an architactural marvel. that building is partly submerged and still is used as the office of archaeological survey of india. (it is so near to my college i.e. IT college which is the first all women' college of asia)

FINALLY SOMEONE VISITED AND VLOGGED LUCKNOW, one of the most underrated cities in india which is developing really quick, i remember 10 years ago it was just a sub urban city and very limited areas to explore and enjoy but now IT'S UNBELIEAVBLE, the city has gone through so much change, especially the newer part of lucknow, which includes LULU MALL, PHOENIX PALASSIO, SKY JUMPER PARK, EKANA FOOTBALL AND CRICKET STADIUM and MUCH MORE! As compared to cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru it is very less crowded and with less traffic as compared to many metro cities, GLAD YOU VISITED LUCKNOW! I hope you enjoyed

I am from this city, it's sad no guide did not entertained you, there is lot of things to observe in bada imambara, which guide would have explained really well..

The best thing you said was "the old city, of course, is a part of it and that is not all of India, it's just a part of India, this is also India, this is also Lucknow... ." The world should see India from this pov and then it'll know the real beauty of it.

Being a resident of Lucknow, it is really shocking that you could not find a English speaking guide, I will surely highlight this at the concerned forum. This is humiliating as well as unacceptable. Apologies for this ....poor experience

Hi Chris, Good to see you covering my city of Lucknow - quite a fascinating city with unique cultural heritage and language. It is also called as "City of Nawabs", Nawabs were the ruling clans of Awadh and Agra (The Region) and were very interested in art, culture, music and food. Lucknow has its own style of cooking (Awadhi cuisine), it has its unique Kharana (House) of dance viz. Kathak (Dance style unique to the courts of Nawabs). Dr. Ambedkar Memorial is in the memory of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, who was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He worked hard for uplifting the lives the most downtrodden caste in Hindu religion - the Dalits (or the Untouchables). More than 30% of Indian population belongs to this category and they still are one of the poorest in the country inspite of lot of affirmative action taken by the governments.

I went to the Palace of Versailles a few years ago and it is so well maintained. I wonder why the govt isn't investing in these old monuments in India especially since they have the potential to boost tourism so much. The walls in Imambara looked like they could fall any minute, the bricks and paint were chipping away. Sad sight.
