Man, the days we now have upgradable firmwares in multimeters. I wish my analog meter had that, I don't like the way the needle moves. ;)

How about an OK or 100% complete type of message since the way it stops it could have reset or failed the download. Perhaps display the version number and + to show SUCCESS for at least 10 seconds ? Is this available as a kit anywhere ?
