Sometimes I think I am a crappy guitar player but the I realize I can do most of those variations. Good lesson. All the best. The blues art was great as well.

Love the (rare) reference to J.J. Cale (from his excellent Grasshopper LP)! These rhythms/shuffles show up in so many classic rock songs in various forms. Offhand I'm thinking of Crossroads and Taking Care of Business. Definitely good to practice these. Excellent video!

Light bulbs are going on! Great lesson! When I started the journey too long ago I learned the shuffle and finger rolling, but was just told it was “blues”. I’ve played those notes so many times, but never thought of 6th, or flat 7th. That adds such another dimension, depth and understanding of what the heck I’m doing. I’m so glad the algorithm brought you up!

I’ve learned that being a good rhythm player is more difficult than taking a solo
