As if lifted from the pages of a fairytale, Belgium is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe (and is one of the best places to visit in Belgium!). If that were not enough of a reason to visit, Bruges is home to terrific people, delicious food, and incredible attractions that you WILL NOT want to miss. In this video, we’ll share with you the best itinerary for a Bruges, Belgium day trip - including all the top things to do in Bruges!

We HIGHLY recommend taking the Ambassadors walking tour and have provided the link below! It is completely free and taught us so much about Bruges. Make sure to let Pascal know we sent you :).

The Belfry of Bruges - Originally built in 1240, the Belfry of Bruge is an iconic medieval bell tower looming 272 feet high over the market square. Open to the public to climb for a fee of 15 euro, The Belfry of Bruge rewards your efforts with stunning views of the city below. Whether you are a film buff, or a history lover - the Belfry of Bruges has something for everyone and cannot be missed during a trip to Belgium.
The Half Moon Brewery - When you visit the Half Moon Brewery, you’re doing more than simply grabbing a beer; you’re taking part in one of Bruges most time honored traditions. For the last 500 years, beer has been brewed at the location of The Half Moon Brewery; with current ownership having passed the business down through 6 generations since 1856. Such a long history has not held them back from embracing innovation - in 2016, The Half Moon Brewery completed the world’s first beer pipeline. Totalling 3.3 KM in length, the pipeline connects the brewery to the bottling plant, reducing carbon emissions as well as traffic along Bruges cobbled streets. During your visit, you’d be a fool not to try the Brugse Zot (get it?) their delicious signature beer that is even available in a non-alcoholic version! Better yet - A Bruge Zot pairs perfectly with a Belgium waffle.
Church of Our Lady Bruges & The Madonna Statue of Bruges - The tallest structure in the city - The Church of Our Lady Bruge is one of the key elements of the Bruge skyline, and is the second tallest brick tower in the entire world. Not bad considering construction of the church dates all the way back to the 13th century! The church's ornate interior can be toured completely for free - but we recommend springing for the 8 euro admission which allows you to visit the Our Lady of the Church Museum. In addition to priceless works of art and the tomb of Charles the Bold, the crown jewel of the museum is Michaelangelo’s “Madonna and Child” - which you may recognize from the 2014 film Monuments Men for being stolen by Nazi Germany!
Bridge of Love - potentially the most romantic spot in Bruges, the Bridge of Love is the perfect place for a photo op and is completely free to visit! But buried beneath this charming exterior is a darker past - the bridge is actually constructed from the ancient headstones of some of Bruges earliest residents - if you look closely, you can still see some of the engravings! Seems like they take “til death do you part” quite literally on the Bridge of Love
Saint John’s Hospital - one of the oldest hospitals in the whole of Europe, Saint John’s hospital dates all the way back to the mid-1100s! We hope you've enjoyed our Bruges, Belgium vlog/Bruges Travel Guide!
