At an attractive price-quality ratio, the Airfix Messerschmitt Bf 109E is presented as a nice kit in 1/72 scale. The level of detail of this tooling from 2012 is on par with releases from other brands, while the required skill level still makes it very suitable for a beginning modeler. The newer Airfix models do however feature deeper panel lines than most other brands.
One point of note which was not addressed in the review; although the propeller is usable, its blades are somewhat narrow.

Great seen this model in many contests and club meetings in the past few years and it looks great! The engraved lines does not hold it back any.

I've built allot of the newer Airfix kits and found that after paint and weathering, the panel lines look perfectly in scale, whilst some of the kits with finer lines tend to disappear.

Airfix won`t see any of my money. Those engraved panel lines and surface details look terrible. Shame.
