I got fired from the best job of my life because of this. I was falling asleep uncontrollably. Turns out that I have SEVERE sleep apnea, and have probably had it for years. That means for years I was never getting any sleep. It was so bad that my body skipped the first two stages of sleep, and automatically went into REM sleep just to try to get some adequate sleep in between my apnea attacks. I'm getting treatment now, and my life is so different now. I used to have to take several hours long naps after work. I couldn't stay up too late when I would be out. I was always tired. I would fall asleep uncontrollably even while standing! I would pass out while doing sedentary things especially movie theaters (there's 100 people who still hate me today for snoring loudly through the last Spiderman movie). I so want to contact my old company, and ask for my job back, but I'm way too nervous to do so. I know they'll say no. All of my symptoms are gone. I don't need to take naps anyore. I don't fall asleep uncontrollably anymore. I'm not as tired. Getting help with my health issue really changed my life. Anyone who snores should get checked! Even if you don't snore get checked.

The problem with me is that a 10, minute nap turns into 8 hours of deep sleep.

If you're on a 1 hour lunch break and you take a nap then of course it's ok ! but if you're on the clock oh hell no... in my Beyoncé " SOMEBODY's GETTING FIRED, HEY HEY ! "

I take naps in my car on a daily basis. I even have a pillow and blanket in my car at this point

The Army has taught me to sleep anywhere. I took like a two minute nap standing on crutches 😂. That 1 hr and a half lunch, I sit in my car with the ac on (stationed in the desert), best naps ever.

I fell asleep once. But, it was an accident. I worked the night shift and went to make some hot caffeinated tea.☕️ about 10 minutes later my head hit the keyboard. I was out!😴 A coworker shook me awake, I was like what?? I looked at the tea packet and it had a sleeping bear with stars and moons.🤨

I’m a massage therapist and you better believe when it’s slow at work and I’m sleepy, I will take a nap! Lol. I have to be in a room with dim lights, soft music, and a massage table with sheets and a blanket all day.

I've fallen asleep a couple a times on the job but thankfully no one caught me. But I usually take naps during my lunch hour. Fortunately only one of my bosses is okay with it. If the other one isn't in the office, I just clock out and go take a nap :) Both me and my other boss have the mind set. it's my hour, I'm off the clock, not getting paid I should be able to do what I please with that hour. But sadly not everyone sees it that way. -_-

The USA is the only country that doesn't take a time out for siesta or nap time during the day. We don't understand that running ourselves in the ground is not what the rest of the world does.

I am from the Caribbean and I don't know of any island taking siestas!!??? France and Spain do siestas.... maybe Central America...? As far as I know, during business hours we have an hour for lunch during which time offices tend to run on skeleton staff. This skeleton staffing is likely to operate for two hours because the staff on the first shift need to eat too. If anything, you might be referring to the Spanish speaking countries in the region which definitely does not speak for the entire Caribbean.

I’ve fallen asleep on the job a few times . One time i really tired so i just asked my boss if i could take a nap during my lunch hour in the storage room . There is a comfortable computer chair in there and i had a blanket so i just put my feet up, leaned back in the chair put my headphones on and went to sleep for an hour .

What Caribbean island is Loni talking about? Because I don’t know any Caribbean islands that take/have siestas.

I used to take naps at work on my lunch break. I’d be up at 6am to get to school, would be at school until 2, and then work from 4-11pm. By my lunch break around 8 or 9, I NEEDED that rest.
