You bought my dream turntable Technics SL-1200GR !! Currently owned the Technics 100c Turntable paired with Audio-Technica Phono Cartridge AT33PTG/II and the this bad boy Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2 with a set of Wharfedale EVO4.2 bookshelf speakers power up by an Anthem MRX 710 Receiver. Oi! Very good choice for your phono preamp. I have this one too and It's the better of all many (expensives) brands than I owned. You can upgrad this one with an external 18V power supply and change the tubes. Good music to you 👍

I have the technics m5g, with the quintet blue cartridge, coupled with the phono box ds2.
They match perfectly.

Just stumbled across your channel and your front-end upgrade. I have recently upgraded to a Sugden A21 and whilst the onboard phono preamp works well - running with my Project X1 TT with the white PickIt cartridge that came as standard with the turntable - I am considering upgrading to the Pro-Ject Tube Box DS2 before I consider a cartridge upgrade -- maybe the Ortofon Bronz - I guess its a suck and see at this stage - and I am sitting on the fence about whether its worth the money with a separate phono preamp for the Sugden.. ? Hi Ken!! I’m soon about to buy a complete new setup. The whole lot, turntable, tube preamp, amp, speakers. I’m debating for either going for the Project Tube Box S2 or DS2. How’s yours going so far?
