Trucks are tough to test for fuel economy because they come in all shapes and sizes. Bed lengths, axle ratios, wheel choices, they can all have varying effects on mpg. Our 2021 Ford F-150 tester was the Limited trim, packing all the bells and whistles in a short-box, crew cab configuration. Despite a few hiccups, we still managed a clean run on a snowy, cold day.

*Great video. One time i rented a 2019 F150 5.0 to do a small apartment move. It got 26 mpg . i was beyond impressed but i was driving very carefully because the truck was fully loaded.*

There’s a 36gal tank option for the 2.7L and 3.5L engines.

I have a 2011 f150 2wd regular cab with the 3.7L v6 and if I baby it I can average 20 mpg. 19.7 mpg in a crew cab 4wd with 400 hp doesn't sound too bad to me. 🤔

Over 500 miles on a single charge, oops full tank is outstanding. I bet it only takes about 10 mins to recharge, oops refill the tank.
EV will never be able to compete. It will take another 100years to catch up, but gas powered will also improve and still out do EV.
Thank you for this test/review.

Putting 22" wheels on a pickup is wrong on so many levels but it does provide a boost to the #SaveSideWall campaign. On an unrelated matter, please check the rear axle while you have this truck in your care as there have been numerous reports of rapid corrosion on these new F-150s.

Your MPG is not an accurate assessment until the engine is fully broken in, meaning at least 10K. It will go up significantly.

The lightning in winter will be lucky to 1/5th of that range.

Looking at buying one of these but here in Australia the only option is the 3.5L V6, wanna see how it goes on a realistic test. the cheapest new model F150 with the V8 is $180, 000 so definently not getting one of those

I would say when you're not driving during cold weather that the mpg range will be higher.

I'd take it especially after driving a 95 f150 with a 300 6

I like how people respect the left lane there
Not like California.

I have a NEW 2022 F-150 3.5 EB with 2650 Miles on it. It is Getting 11.5 to 12.5 MPG 99% all in town driving. I have been on the freeway, and it does Increase as I drive further on the Freeway, However, this is a SLAP in my Face for sure?? I figured it would be at LEAST in the 15 Range around Town and that I could Live with. But it ain't no where near 17/18 MPG on an Over All Basis. Kinda Sucks for sure. 400 HP/500 Ft Lbs Trq.

What’s that flashing red light on the driver door?

Doing a mpg test on a cold day is not the brightest thing to do since vehicles get much less mpg than they normally would.

Is it easy to do a burnout in that thing?
