I had a similar problem when I tried to use cocoa powder. It created a mousse-like foam on the top of the must, which just overflowed since the CO2 was held in the foam instead of escaping. I like this blowout tube method, thanks for the idea.

Interesting experiment, curious to find out the taste and final proof of the drink.
Only gripe I have is with the title, is that “PEEPS WINE” is a misnomer. By definition, Wine has to be made from a fruit and water mixture, sometimes with additional sugar to augment the fermentation process. Mead is made with honey, water, and spices, sometimes with additional honey added to augment the fermentation process.
