Quick turntable belt replacement

Be sure to keep the heavy platter TIGHT with your fingers so it doesn't drop on the turntable mechanism and break something. Pay attention not to twist the belt both on the plate running face and on the small drive pulley

Tips:
Stuck platter or Loose belt
1. Stuck platter
If it won't lift, it's slight stuck on the center pin. Grab platter rather at the perimeter with both hands at two opposite points, then *gently* wiggle the platter vertically. Be gentle, it should get unstuck, then lift if as shown with the finger holes - be sure to keep the heavy platter securely when lifting it.
2. Loose belt
If the belt is loose and doesn't stay on the platter, keep the belt in tension with the left hand while handling the platter with the right hand. Pay attention not to twist the belt both on the plate running face and on the small drive pulley. It may help to have the speed selector at 45rpm to lower the fork.

Hello, i have a sharp rp-6000-h turntable.
The old belt was to wide so i changed it with a new one.
It fits ok but when its start turning the belt comes half over the poulie everytime. Result : it plays ok for couple of seconds than the song goes to fast and sometimes te belt jumps off.

Thank you very much for this. It's part of a hifi system from the 80's. It used to rise on and off at the end and return to its starting position. I changed the belt yesterday as it had perished. It started ok but now I had to lift the arm on to album, it then just skimmed over album to end. I could hear the mechanism but nothing happened. I manually lifted the arm back to the starting position. Any ideas? Thank you.
