I live in New Zealand where the fertilizer companies have a strong presence, however, more and more farmers are turning to regenerative and non chemical ways of production. At 78 years of age I am establishing a 1.5 ha food forest from farmland with some native forest on the margins. I am in the 6th year since I started the conversion and do not have access to machinery so am making small 'islands' of forest which I plan to join together as they thrive. I use mainly plants I have grown myself so it's a long process.
I found your videos about three months ago and have learned such a lot from them. I am sure my plantings are much healthier and growing better since I started planting groups or consortiums as you suggest. Also I find the idea of cutting down an unsuitable planting very refreshing, having always felt I had to 'make it work' even when it clearly was not working!
You have been a huge inspiration to me and i look forward to seeing more from you. Thank you.

Thanks so much for this course guys! It's been so inspiring, especially seeing the more mature system near the end of the video, very exciting! I feel like I really learned a lot, and am now going to try things out here in Northern Uganda...banana, cassava, papaya and some fast growing indigenous trees for biomass, as well as a seed cocktail of indigenous fruit trees since they're getting chopped down a lot without being replanted, plus some veg and grass rows. Looking forward to going through the course followup too, keep up the great work!!

You guys are absolutely amazing. Finished the whole course and it was fantastic. You did a great job of explaining and demonstrating, which is so hard to find online and especially with everything in one spot. I am soon buying another property in Panama just for agroforestry and now I have a whole blueprint. Thank you so much.

Thanks once more for sharing guys. If ever you find time I would appreciate some suggestions on how to do this in a small backyard garden. I am trying out some ideas but not sure it is working. Possibly not keeping it simple enough to learn the process. Having fun playing tho’! Cheers

thank you for sharing your knowledge. can you elaborate about irrigation. you have mentioned that you have a long dry winter. I have in the mediterranean region a long hot summer. If you plant so much trees in close proximity, doesn't it mean that you will have to use a lot of water during the dry season? more trees=more roots=more water needed for each square meter. I have a drip system that has to work continuously through the summer. It take a lot of water (money) to do it. can you give examples for the amount of litres you apply through irrigation and the system you use?
