COVID-19: N.L. expanding online learning resources, changing testing requirements – January 26, 2022

In St. John’s, Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, Newfoundland and Labrador’s chief medical officer of health, Andrew Furey, premier of N.L., and John Haggie, minister of health, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Tony Stack, CEO and director of education with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District, and Tom Osborne, the minister of education, also take part in the briefing via teleconference. The province is changing testing requirements for people who have previously tested positive for COVID-19 and face a second exposure with a close contact. N.L. is also boosting online learning resources for junior and high school students.
