They get arrested for SA if they get caught. Even if it's consensual, you can never prove that their power and position didn't influence a person not to say no. Also, they sign a contact that says any inappropriate relationships are automatic termination, and the state can file charges.

I’m grateful the word “ dating” was in quotes. This is not dating. This is sexual coercion or sexual manipulation, which is simply a form of sexual assault.
It’s an unequal power dynamic, and often the person who is captive is afraid to refuse fearing retribution.

This is like. A whole other level/definition of manipulation. That CO knew they had the ability to make the inmate’s life hell, and used it against them if said inmate ever wanted nothing to do w them. So gross and sad.

Yeah, worse that happens to CO is they get fired. The inmate can catch additional charges or get G4'd. This could cause the inmate to lose parole too.

When I got locked up for my long run in county. There was a girl who was a trustee with us. ( man trustee life is soooo much better ) anyway. She ended up hooking up/dating one of our COs. Thank god my pod was the less dramatic. No one gave a damn that knew. We knew it wouldn’t be wise to make a bigger issue out of something so we don’t have to be there longer.

Jail is crazy. Whole different world. If you do adapt well, you won’t do well. & don’t get me wrong, no one wants to do “well” in jail. But it’s better than being alone 24:7/365 . You’ll meet some good and bad humans. Love the videos!

Even if “consensual” it’s not viewed that way since they’re in a position of authority over the person. Similar to how college professors can get in trouble for dating students while both our of legal age.

In my area one was recently fired from a community college for dating students. He said he never dated them while they were in his classes- just when they were former students. Still got fired.

I ended up getting pregnant by a CO while doing my time at a Regional. It wasn't me that did the pursuing. These COs have all of the power to make your bid smooth or hard. It was a messy and traumatizing situation.If it wasn't for the beautiful baby girl that came along, I'm not sure I would have had the strength to keep going in life! Mama loves you, Aubrey ❤

As an officer I'd be far more concerned than if I was an inmate. The inmate holds the cards after that happens.
