Показать описание
This Donna Loren performance of "Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While)" aired 11-20-65 on Shindig! Backing her up are Darlene Love and The Blossoms. This show was filmed at Magic Island on the Island of Oahu in Hawaii and was one of the few times Donna or anyone else didn't sing live on the show. This was Donna's last Shindig! show. Written by Motown's prolific songwriting team Holland-Dozier-Holland.
In Donna's words: "Don Ho’s #1 Hit, 'Tiny Bubbles' lured Shindig! to Oahu, Hawaii🌸
Our cast included Bobby Sherman, Darlene Love, the Shindig dancers and others at this remote location. I was given two songs to record and then I lip-synced for the first time ever while performing them on this phenomenal TV Show. "Take Me In Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While)", a Doobie Brothers hit, is one. I was fond enough of this song to have rerecorded it later at Charles Brotman's Studio in Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii."
Donna Loren was the one-and-only "Dr Pepper Girl" from 1963 to 1968. She was signed to a long-term contract with the soft-drink company to sing all television and radio commercials, do all magazine and billboard advertising representing them in every capacity, sometimes sharing the spotlight with American Bandstand's Dick Clark. This relationship led to her touring in Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars with other popular acts like Diana Ross and The Supremes and singing solos in the popular Beach Party films starring Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. Later, she became the regular female vocalist on the popular 60's American live rock n roll TV show "Shindig" and she appeared in singing and acting roles in many iconic TV shows like Batman, The Monkees, Gomer Pyle, The Mothers-In-Law, Red Skelton, Milton Berle and various game shows. She's released 22 singles, an LP album and 4 CD's. You can find her music on all major streaming services.
