Yes, Trump will definitely throw Elon under the bus.

As a Canadian, I appreciate everyone on the show here taking the time to acknowledge the current threats that Donald Trump is making against Canada's position as a sovereign nation. The only thing I can ask is that you take it one step further and denounce these statements and objectives of the president. A world in which Canada is under USA control, is a world in which USA becomes public enemy number one.

We have decided, over and over again, no kings, no dictators, no discussions.

5:14 What is the end game here?? Easy - privatize everything; make the working class even more desperate & divided; create cruelty, chaos, & confusion; declare martial law; crown Trump King.

Elon should have asked himself this simple question before getting into this: Can you name one single person Donald Trump has NOT thrown under the bus? P.S. This man is brilliant.

While many assume the U.S. Constitution provides a safeguard against executive overreach, it contains structural weaknesses that allow authoritarian power to expand within the system itself.

The U.S. government relies heavily on political norms—such as respect for checks and balances and judicial independence—rather than strong legal mechanisms to prevent democratic backsliding. As key institutions fail to uphold these norms (e.g., Congress declining to check executive overreach or the Supreme Court legitimizing it), no automatic constitutional barrier prevents a descent into authoritarianism.

The Constitution is designed under the assumption that those in power act in good faith; it does not explicitly prevent bad-faith actors from exploiting its gaps.

Unchecked executive authority, judicial capture, minority rule, and weak constraints on emergency powers create legal pathways to dismantle democracy without the need for a military coup or outright dictatorship.

This is a blind spot in the design of the US constitution ; it does not entail any positive intent. It therefore poses the challenge to reform and fix the loopholes in the constitution, to reaffirm the very explicit intent of this constitution — in essence that it legitimises a republic only, and in no way a monarchy or an oligarchy. The problem is that this is not currently an open debate : Those who are testing the limits of the constitution are doing so under a veil. The judiciary seems to be holding the fort so far, but the ultimate test lies in the attitude of the Supreme Court. Should this court fail to curtail executive overreach it becomes critical for democrats of all political affiliations to challenge the executive in no uncertain terms and to enact legislative protections from such abuses of power.

BTW, in response to "Govt. has gotten really big". It has not. The size of Govt. has been roughly the same size, as a % of the USA population for decades. This is a silly fiction that media personalities seem to repeat over and over and over again.

Musk also doesn't seem to realize he's making himself an actual target for any number of whackjobs.

I'm in Australia and and it was just reported that gold exports to the US literally exploded in January. I'm curious to know who was buying all this gold. Clearly people who knew of the impending market meltdown.

All of his loyal bulldogs that get their power from him will eventually end up like Rudy Giuliani. Thrown under the bus

I think the guest made good points. However, Trump would fail in annexing Canada. Canada has over 200 years history of a nation and is much stronger position to resist any attempts to annex it.
