I personally don’t find Apple Intelligence that much useful. The image generation is not at all useful. It makes cartoonish photos which it’s definitely good that it’s obviously not real, it’s just gimmicky. The Writing Tools aren’t that useful either, because it creates output that very much feels AI-generated and almost too formal for the situation. The Siri upgrades, Reduce Interruptions, Swift Assist for us devs and Visual Intelligence are awesome tho.

The Camera Control button is, in my opinion, the worst feature this year. It is terribly fiddly and awkward to use. It seems totally superfluous and unnecessary. And the biggest downside? It actually *slows* down your picture-taking task! It's much faster just to use the on-screen controls.

This button was ill-conceived. Instead of *removing* buttons from the iPhone, Apple decided to *add* new buttons such as the Action button and the Camera Control button. Steve Jobs must be spinning in his grave like a lathe.

I sincerely hope they remove this feature in the next iteration of the iPhone (17 or 18) after users express their displeasure.

I currently have the iPhone 14 plus that I’m giving to my mom because she uses an iPhone 11. I’m getting the 16 pro in black with 256gb. I ordered it I can’t wait to get it with the 6.3 inch compact screen better battery etc.

I might have an unpopular opinion, but I love the concept of the camera control! When I upgrade in a few years I'll be super hyped for it! (As a photographer I might be slightly biased)

Currently on the XR, great phone, shot quite a few music videos with it. The iPhone 16, with USB-C, improved cameras, camera control and updated industrial design with cameras reminiscent of the iPhone X looks to be a great upgrade. The removal of Apple stickers is almost as disappointing as the removal of the glowing Apple logo in MacBooks.

Just got my wife the basic 256gig 16 in pink, a BIG upgrade from her 64gig 12mini which she absolutely loved but didn’t have the storage she needs being an avid photographer/pintrester. I have the 13pro and thought about upgrading myself… having always gotten the pro models I was STRONGLY advised by my brother in law who manages a couple of Apple stores to wait for next year… completely different design, more premium build materials, better range of colours and more affordable. So that’s what I’m doing..

It might even be a huge change on the inside but IMO it still doesn't give a big reason to spend all that cash and upgrade if you are coming from a 13 pro or newer, 12 or older still makes sense though

the new camera button is hopeless with the case on. i tried using it with a simple silicon case. u have to press real hard to get any response for the camera use. they should have made it on par with the body panel instead of engraving it deep

It’s so wild that their entire marketing campaign is Apple intelligence but we won’t get all of the features until halfway through the 16 life cycle. Buying the 16 for AI is asinine.
