The director of the series sold me on it. He seems super earnest in telling a rick and morty show with a japense twist while respecting and honoring the original. I'm actually looking forward to this more than the next season of the show.

I may not be a big rick and morty fan but the fact that a actual anime based on the show is being made is pretty cool! It's so rare to see anime shows that are based on western cartoons. Like it happened before with Powerpuff Girls Z, and lilo and stitch the anime. And now this??? Wish we can have more anime shows based on western animated shows 😊

I kinda love how the op song is so confused about what genre its supposed to be, it goes from a magical girl kinda song, to a more sci fi anime song, to metal, then a sci fi kinda anime song maybe im not sure

Rick and Morty with an actual plot and character development would kinda go hard. The dramatic moments in the first couple seasons were legitimatetly pretty good.

This version feels like it would hit so much more differently than the OG show, given how many different Ricks and Mortys are out there that should make sense.

Clever mode of side-stepping Roiland in both voice-acting and creative roles without that aspect feeling forced.
The main series always flirts with the idea of developing a sequential plot but then shames away from committing to anything too sincere, even mockingly so. It comes off as not having confidence in its narrative. So I'm excited to see what this team does with a ten episode mindset instead of just going to bat on episodic seasons.

The reason I always thought this show had so much potential was because you can never really run out of story lines with the multiverse theory at their disposal. Some cartoons struggle with discarding story lines by sometimes not having the time to develop them, or not making sense in that universe. But the thing with Rick and Morty they have this unique ability to not have to make everything make sense because theres the fall back of the fact it could be happening in another reality and they can come and go as they choose. So they sort of have this storytelling device to take the show in whatever way they choose to. So i'm glad to see it being put to use for a whole new spin on the now franchise because it really does prove how good this dynamic can be in all kinds of universes. The set up, with familiar characters with the same relations just experiencing new things in a new way its so profitable.

If you watched this video to the end, the creator/director gives a humble speech where he expresses gratitude twords just having the houour of parodying such legendary work as that of Rick and Morty. He's a huge fan of the original just like you and i, presumably. Consequently, it seems he exclusively desires to provide the masses with option to enjoy a little parady with a uniqe twist. And the truth is, as with most parodies, they never really compare to the original, but that's okay, bc its not what they intend to do. It can be successful in its own way and I'm honestly looking forward to watching the anime version.
