Hello! We're Caroline and Pete, and in 2021, after 10 years living in Texas, we sold up and moved back home to the UK to live full time aboard a 60ft narrowboat with our West Highland Terriers! Morning Star is a win for me. Not only is the interior exquisite, the GREEN exterior just blew me away! I love everything about that boat. Paul and Anthony did an amazing job designing their new home with Oakums. I absolutely loved it!🤗❤️

Morning Star for me. Awesome. I don’t quite get Trad layouts. Surely it seems a bit strange to invite friends into your boat only for them to have to come in through your bedroom. Then there’s coming straight into the bedroom with wet clothes and wellies on. Also it seems nice to able to bring up tea and food to the helm straight from the kitchen. But that’s just me.

I have to say I am partial to the name MorningStar, as that was the name of the Calvary Chapel Church in Salem, Oregon, that I used to attend… all the boats were beautiful. Thank you for taking the time Caroline to show us the inside of these beautiful beautiful boats… I have to say my most favorite is Something Else because that boat is really something else… I mean I loved everything about it, but my favorite thing is the Aga! Just like on Zero!

The Oakums Narrowboat was my fav - loved those skylights, the electric motor and the overall look and feel of the boat !💚💚💚
Also loved the Cricket - favourite wide beam- blue is my favourite colour and i liked the overall styling - it also had skylights so that maybe a common theme for me !

My favorite was the Narrowboat First Runner-up. I thought the curved stairs in the winner were quite awkward to maneuver and quite dangerous. All were beautifully constructed with all the comforts of home. Thanks for sharing!

I'm with the boy who declared Braidbar "Reginald" the best boat in the show, because that secret bedroom with its access to the well deck is genius, and I can imagine the children fighting over which two can sleep there. Having said that, Morning Star has my much preferred reverse layout with the only logical utility room at the stern, so it is a very close run indeed. I regard widebeams as impossible compromises because okay, they have the space and appointments of a royal palace, but at the price of not being able to use most of the canal network. For myself, I would take none of them, preferring a 58 ft reverse layout narrowboat with hybrid drive, galley at the stern, then pullman dinette, saloon (with woodburner), full width showerroom, bedroom, welldeck.

Terrific coverage guys of winning boats have to admit I still prefer the light and brightness of Morning star! But that extra room in Reginald really is terrific, where the water tank ??
