IF YOU are interested in historybounding, or even straight up historical costuming, and the Victorian and/or Edwardian era is for you, then this skirt might be exactly what you're looking for! If you are interested in more detailed instructions on how to draft this skirt specifically, please let me know down in the comments. Maybe we can do a draft-along or a sew-along, a historybounding skirt workshop, something along those lines!

Lolita fashion (the Japanese style, not the gross thing people think of here) is pretty much kawaii Victorian but knee length :) I started off making Victorian and Edwardian gowns then found Angelic Pretty and realized I’ve been making an even higher quality version of their dresses for years, so it was easy to try making lolita jumperskirts ❤ and the masculine version is waistcoats and pumpkin pants!!! Absolutely love it

The pockets bugged my aesthetics and made me think of dropped phones, but seeing the big FUNCTIONAL pockets made me so happy. I love the decorative pockets being, decorative! The frills are fun and whimsical.

I love the frilly pockets! If you’re going to make pockets you may as well make them frilly!

❤❤❤❤ I was thinking of subscribing to your channel because I loved the fact that you made something old but with some modern techniques. But when you said you did it to piss people off in the comments, I couldn't subscribe fast enough! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think the frilly front pockets need small black buttons in order to fit in with the style of the skirt. See the picture as a reference. I think it would ground the pockets more and would integrate them more, otherwise they are kind of floating on their own and are looking a bit out of place. The buttons should go on the band on the pockets like in the picture. Beautiful skirt BTW.

I love extra pockets, my biggest sewing issue is getting more than 10 minutes to do anything.

I think those pockets are cute and fit the skirt really nicely - they give the front a little er... I can't think of the right word for it, brain fell over, but a little fancy something without being too much (← pretend like I Englished well here)! I especially love the🖕to all the commenters who apparently forgot their manners 😁

Hmm...no, the pockets are ghastly but you find them fun so that's what matters.
