You'll NEVER Guess What I Found In Ethiopia! (#172) 🇪🇹 Happy New Year! 🇪🇹

Happy New Year መልካም አዲስ ዓመት! Ethiopia isn't quite on the same calendar as everyone else, and they do things their own way. They've got their own coffee -- hell, they invented it. They've got their own, ahem, stimulants 🍃. They've even got their own questionable local liquor made out of honey.

Perhaps as a result, you can find some pretty unique people from around the world there. They even have a community of Rastafarians living there who came to be closer to Hailie Selassie, the former Emperor, who they thought was God. And it was there that I found someone REALLY unexpected.

Join us on this strange but somehow hilarious trip from Addis Ababa to Shashamene and Wondo Genet, from the capital to the lands of the Oromos.

Salam from Miami. Africa is also my favorite continent. I have lived in Adis Ethiopia, Djibouti and Kenya. Ethiopia is my favorite African country. So much so I married a beautiful Ethiopian Queen.
Great people, culture, food, music and memories.

The Japanese gentleman needs a channel his experience in Ethiopia would be very educational coming from a different culture and immersing himself in the Ethiopian culture!☝🏽🥸

That is probably the only Japanese Rastafarian living in Ethiopia on the planet.

I liked the attitude of the Ethiopian people quickly!!! They seemed very friendly. Also, the girl in the episodes photo was especially beautiful.
It was also enjoyable to see you and Josey collaborating.

That Japanese man living in Ethiopia is WILD. What a contrast in cultures, but he seems to have adapted. This is just CRAZY to me.

I enjoyed your Ethiopian video, Tommy! You give us an unadulterated picture of the country you are visiting every time and I appreciate that. Every country has its beautiful and its ugly side. That's just the way it is. Thank you for being you and for your fascinating way of telling a story via video!

Tommy, I LOVE your videos. You've shown me such a cool new and interesting perspective on the world. You truly provide a very different and loving perspective on us as humans. Like where else would we find a Japanese Rasta man living in Ethiopia? Where else would we find tribes living in the rain forest speaking Dutch? Where else would we find videos of small communities with people speaking a language that barely still exists? You've shown us that you can connect with anyone by just speaking and understanding some of their language. Thank you for also always learning the history of these places and teaching us about it. Thank you, happy new years and good luck for 2024!

Seeing you and Empress Josey of Nigeria (sorry, couldn't resist! 😄) is simply compulsive and absorbing viewing. The two most chilled tuber-vloggers on the planet is dual dynamism at its best ...and the locals always seem to catch on to that fact immediately.
The diversity and beauty of Africa is immense and you both bring out the positives magnificently! Thanks for sharing, and I look forward eagerly to the next collaboration. One!!!
