I have a note on this, If you don't mind :)
I think what you should reverse (ONLY) is add the highlight shade on the hollow of your cheeks and put the darker shades above them and underneath. Either than than you define your nose the same with normal contouring and also with the eyebrows, forehead and chin using the highlight.
You can also add some highlight under the wing eyeliner to the side of the eyes to left them up, right above where the reverse contouring is placed.

The reverse contouring, as for my knowledge so far is used for two cases, 1) in HD tv makeup specially with women who are 40+ to hide the fine lines and wrinkles under the eyes and on the cheeks, as how Eve Pearl does it.
2) For those who have alot of redness in their faces and don't want to use a color correcting method, the reverse contouring on the cheeks gives them a more natural look.
