My daughter was buying a used car to replace her older one. She is young and hasn't delt with the buying a car game. The 'new' car was about 3 years old. I looked the contract and crossed out about ten charges. It saved her over $200.00. It doesn't cost $75. to fax anything. I told them if you want to sell the car, eliminate these fees. If not, I'm sure the dealer across the street will gladly take my money. They dropped the fees.

Yes, we bought a $400 vanity at Wayfair, there was a tiny scratch on it. They told us to keep it and they sent another vanity.

Audit your subscriptions. Ask if you really need this. We've killed Netflix, Sirius XM, Amazon prime and others. Software and premium app subscriptions are next up for audit. Our best return has been on a Cosco business membership. Gas prices are the lowest in our area. So far, have eliminated over $750 in annual expenses. I expect this to go over $1000 when we're done.

I live in a very nice part of St. Louis and the Food Bank did a food drive at our local mall down the street. We don't "see" a lot of poverty openly where we live, yet 200 people showed up to receive 50 pounds of food. Many are retired. For every person we see that is struggling, many more are hidden from our view. It's tough out there.

Those hidden fees are everywhere! We moved to US 8 years ago. And it was such a bad feeling every time like you are being scammed.

Vegas has to be the worst on resort fees. It was useless asking for the resort fee to be taken off.

Here is a recent story from Michigan about a vehicle owner that had his car towed. The bill included a $2, 195 towing charge, a $200 mileage charge, a $250 “extra person” fee, a $650 charge for special equipment, $800 for labor, $525 for storage, a $395 COVID fee, $50 for fuel, a $1, 900 “gate/admin” fee, a $300 flatbed charge and $275 winch fee. The company added a 20% “processing fee” on top, bringing to total tow cost to $9, 048. (That's probably more than his car was worth!!!)

I use a local bank now and a credit union. Wells Fargo screwed me years ago. I wouldn't use that bank for anything these days.

I usually pay off my Discover bill every month. They used to have a reminder for bill due, but it had stopped some time ago causing me to miss a payment because I depended on the reminder. I tried to set up the reminder notice again, but my app would not let me. It was like the link was no longer connecting. I write it on the calendar now. To me that was pretty dirty.

My TRUIST bank charged me to cash my small container of coins, and this was during a coin shortage. Pissed me off, and they would not waive the fee. I am moving a lot of cash out of this bank and going to a credit uniion

I live in Thailand and really noticed all the fee that are chArged by Verizon, Apple. My phone bill was $179 in HawAii, over data charge, late fee. In Chiangmai there is a whole floor of cell phone providers, I pay only $5 dollars a month for unlimited data and no late fee. I got what’s app to call my friend in Virginia, damn, apple changed me 16.95 for the subscription, 6 dollars for texting, that I can’t cancel.
Closed my bank account.Whats app is free in Thailand. Tired of these bs, nickel and dimed to death

At one time I got a Nordstrom Visa card while I was walking around in the store it was offered as a special rate for 3%. I applied and received the card. Had it for years. Then one day I noticed on the paper statement that I received in the mail that the interest amount seemed very high so I called them. They told me the interest rate was 12%!!! shocker!!! I asked them when that happened and why? They told me a while back I was late on a payment so they shut up the interest rate on me. Then about a year later I received a letter saying that they had overcharged me interest for a very long time and they were applying over $1, 200 to my account to correct the issue. Seriously? Then guess what? They closed my account down on me
