Welcome to my New Bike Day featuring the 2024 Kona Sutra! After 8 years of dreaming and planning, I’ve finally got my hands on this legendary touring bike, and today I’m breaking down why the Kona Sutra is the perfect choice for bike tourists, bikepackers, and cycling enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or new to bike touring, this bike is designed to handle long-distance adventures and rough terrain with ease.

In this video, I'll walk you through the key features and customizations I made to my Kona Sutra Touring Bike, including the comfort-focused Selle Italia Lady Gel Saddle and Deity Black Kat Pedals for superior grip.

This video is not sponsored. I just love this bike and I'm excited to begin touring and bikepacking with it.

Key Features of the 2024 Kona Sutra:
Durability & Comfort: Built for long-haul bicycle touring, offering a smooth ride over varied terrain.
Versatility for Bikepacking & Touring: Ready for everything from cross-country rides to international adventures.
Standard Features: Comes with a front rack, puncture-resistant tires, and a touring-ready saddle, so you're set for adventure right out of the box.
Built to Last: After years of following other riders’ journeys on the Sutra, I finally see why this bike is a trusted companion for long-distance cyclists, with very few mechanical issues reported.

Why I Chose the Kona Sutra:
I’ve been eyeing the Kona Sutra for nearly a decade, and it's been my ideal tour bike. You can even see it in my 2019 Bike Fit video. The comfort and durability of the Sutra make it the perfect fit for bike touring and bikepacking. Even after considering other bikes, the Sutra checked all the boxes with its robust design and ability to handle diverse terrains, making it ideal for both new cyclists and experienced bike tourists.

The 2024 Kona Sutra is a classic in the bike touring world, trusted by riders for its resilience and ability to tackle the toughest routes. Plus, it’s got a fresh new look and the Kona team is back in charge, making it an exciting time to get into bike touring with this amazing bike.

Whether you're planning your first bike tour or you're a seasoned adventurer, this bike will serve you for miles and miles of cycling bliss.

Congrats on the new bike. Like you said, sometimes it takes a while to afford your dream bike. A friend of mine just purchased his dream bike yesterday after riding his 2011 Jamis Xenith Pro into the ground. It just so happened that the shop I frequently visit had the bike. It was NOS, and he got it for literally half price.
Congrats again, and it's a great way to start a new year.

Congratulations. I know I felt in 2016 with my first touring bike Surly Disc Trucker. I modified it to 17.5 gear inches to climb hills better.

Congrats!
They are a bit pricey, but I have the Tailfin aluminum Aero Pack and panniers . They can be outfitted with various sizes of bags. I had an issue with my top tube bag zipper and without hesitation they sent me out a new bag and I didnt need to send the old one back. They seem to stand behind their products. With that said, I did replace the torx bit hardware for allen head. I am not a fan of the torx bit since they tend to round out if you do not get a good fit.

Does On Your Left have Sutras in stock, or did you have to order? I am looking for my next bike and I love the way yours looks.
