Occipital Stroke: Irreversible or Reversible?

I have right sided hemianopsia from a stoke in my left occipital lobe and other parts of my brain that I had in 2015. I’m not allowed to drive and none of my vision ever returned unfortunately. I was only 31 at the time and it has been so disruptive to my life. I’m much better now, I don’t run into things when I’m walking nearly as much and it’s extremely rare that I have hallucinations anymore. But it was a long recovery and acceptance process. I wish there was more help out there for people like me. Thank you for keeping the dialogue going 🙏🏻

Hello Dr. I am 44 years old and found out on 9/8/2023 that I had an Embolic stroke in my occipital lobe that is impacting my peripheral vision. On 9/1/2023, I had a Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) surgery that apparently triggered the stroke. On 9/6/2023 after coming out of being on meds for pain I noticed my vision was off specifically my peripheral and contacted the radiologist who did the UFE to report the change in vision and they referred me to my optometrist who dialated my eyes and discovered the lost of vision and said it was a right homonymous and left hemianopia.The neurologist from the ER confirmed the stroke was triggered by the UFE procedure that occurred. I’ve been crying for 2 days but want to be proactive. I know I need to find a neuro opthamologist to start visual field training and the first 3 months is critical. Is it possible to improve my vision? Is it possible to have a consultation I have insurance. Thank you for reading I feel hopeless.

Two months ago I had a stroke in the left occipital nerve, That is caused double vision, and I have to keep a patch over one eye all the time in order to see straight and basically even walk properly. The doctor said it is paralyzed the muscle that goes over the top of my left eye. I was told it should repair itself within 2 to 3 months, after two months, I’ve seen no progression whatsoever… They told me if it did not heal itself that they could do a surgery to repair it. I have researched to understand what this concur consist of, but I can’t find anything? I’m hoping you can give me some advice.
