Tenere 700 review Is it the best Adventure motorcycle ever?
Social Medias:
Yamaha Tenere 700:
The Yamaha Ténéré 700 is a midsize adventure/dual-sport motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha since 2019. It features a 689 cc (42.0 cu in) parallel-twin engine which powers the motorcycle through a six-speed gearbox and chain drive. Brakes are equipped with rider-switchable (on-off) ABS. The "baby Ténéré" is the latest in a series of dual-sport Yamaha motorcycles named after the Ténéré desert stage of the Dakar Rally in the Sahara. The successor to Yamaha's XT660Z Ténéré was first announced as the T7 concept at the 2016 EICMA with an anticipated production launch in 2018. A refined concept was publicized a year later.
Yamaha announced that delivery of bikes would begin in Europe in July 2019, and only the following year to the USA due to emissions and other regulatory delays. The liquid-cooled 4-stroke 8-valve DOHC engine with crossplane crankshaft was already in use and well reviewed in Yamaha's MT-07 naked and Tracer 700 sport touring bikes.

It’s such a post apocalypse survival bike vibe. I love them, definitely a bucket list bike for me.

I wanna thank you so much for this video. You earned this subscription 👍.
I currently own a 2017 wr250r that I love but its lacking for 2 up and high speed on road.
My wife loves to ride and we were looking at the tenere 700. You've pretty much sold us on it.
It looks like its everything we want in a bike to do enjoyable 2up rides.

A deer jumped off a ditch when I was passing by at 5mph and broke my front lights glass and led bulbs with its horns… 800 euros! Fortunately the insurance paid for it. Now I use the Yamaha Oem light protector. Great video mate.

I’m looking for an Adv/dual sport bike as my second bike. I am between the cfr300 platform and the T7. I would use it mostly for commute, but I am looking for a adv/dualsport motorcycles because I want to start some light off-road such as some gravel and camping roads. Since you own both, would you have any recommendation for me? New to the channel, keep up the great work!!

That vinyl on the headlight is a great idea, will do that on mine since I also don't like the grill as well

That’s awesome that you are putting the tenere on rider share 👍🤟

T7 launched for $15, 500AUD in Australia, now it's $19, 500AUD.. I was going to buy one but that's a pretty large price hike for the same bike.
Also the crf300 rally is $8800AUD.. for comparison.
So now looking at a new crf300l + secondhand tiger 800 for the same price as the t7 🤔

Great review. I am one of those guys who busted the headlight assembly. :) (looped it into a pine tree during an ADV training class in the Pine Barrens).
I put a cage protector on mine because: A) It's $500 to replace B) Last time I looked there was a 6 month backorder wait on Partzilla for the headlight assembly.

I LOVE the way the ergos felt, minus the stock seat when I sat on T7… but my DR650 is better economically right now. However, if I win the lottery, the T7 might be one of the hints.

I ride an old-school 660 Tenere which I hoped to use for distance with a bit of light off road - green lanes/fire trails etc. It's great fun, but massively top heavy, and the single motor has a fairly narrow band of useable grunt. I test rode the T7 and that engine is (relatively) silky smooth, and the whole thing holds its weight much lower down - making sketchy surfaces much less of a wrestling match. I didn't drop it, but it felt like it would be a bit easier to pick up - the old Ten is such a lardy beast, she has tested my back to the limit!

IMO The T7 is the klr upgrade. 👌
Its everything the klr is, but more refined and exciting.

It’s def the best ADV on the market imo. Until the next best thing, but this thing is pretty damn good. Hoping Yamaha modifies or splits the CP2 engine in half for a lighter weight (345cc?) dual sport!

You mention that you ride 2 up. Was just wondering how the comfort is for the passenger. Want this bike but need good for 2 up.

Thanks great video.

Great review! As a beginner with less than a year with mc-license, I can see your point about it might not be the best for me. Still, after I got my license, I had already zoned in on the T700. It's a bit high and heavy but I feel it's a pleasure to ride in normal conditions. A bit more challenging offroad but I look at it as a challenge learning to handle the bike. I like the fact that I don't get help from the bike, such as different rider modes, anti-this and that. On the other hand, seeing people going offroad with smaller DS-bikes looks very fun as well.
Nah, I'll stick to my T7 for now. As long as I enjoy riding it... 😁
