UIA President José Luis Cortés Delgado presents the first edition of the UIA 2030 Award.

As the world enters the Decade of Action to deliver the UN Global Goals, faced with the challenges of climate change, rapid urbanisation and deepening inequality caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, there has never been a more important time for architects and built environment professionals to contribute to this pressing global agenda. Recognising the time-limited nature of the Global Goals, the UIA 2030 Award will comprise five biennial award cycles synchronised with the UN Habitat World Urban Forum.
